On Sunday, the movement of the ferries between Durrës - Bari and vice versa, as well as Vlorë - Brundisi and vice versa, will be prohibited.
This was the announcement of the General Maritime Directorate. The reason is the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation along the Albanian coast during the dates 09-10-11.03.2024.
The DPD has requested the cooperation of all subjects that exercise activity in the maritime field, to take all the necessary measures for securing the means in the port and increasing the readiness of the crew in the vessels.
Announcement of the General Maritime Directorate:
. Notice of worsening hydrometeorological conditions during the dates 09-10-11.03.2024!
. Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation along the Albanian coast during the dates 09-10-11.03.2024 starting from 14:00 on 09.03.2024 in the direction South-South-East, South-South-West in the force up to 7- 8bft to 9bft with wind speed up to 25-45m/s and wave height from 2.50 to 4 meters.
In order to prevent any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions, we ask for the cooperation of all entities that exercise activity in the maritime field, to take all the necessary measures to secure the tools in the port and increase the readiness of the crew in the tools floating.
International maritime transport ships for passengers and vehicles on the line Durres-Bari-Durres and Vlorë-Brindisi-Vlorë will continue to operate normally according to the respective destinations on Saturday.
The Durres-Ancona-Durres ferry line will operate normally on Sunday.
On Sunday, March 10, 2024, the movement of passenger ships will be prohibited on the international lines Durres-Bari-Durres and Vlora-Brindisi-Vlora.
. Regarding the Sarande-Corfus-Sarande line, we will announce in the following days.
. It is prohibited to grant a permit-departure on 09-10-11.03.2024 starting at 17:00 dated 09.03.2024 for all small vessels, fishing vessels operating along the Albanian coast and have been notified of the measures FOR THEIR INSURANCE.
. The improvement of the deteriorated hydrometeorological situation for small vessels and fishing will be after 22:00 on 11.03.2024.
