The situation created by bad weather accompanied by heavy snowfall and strong winds has brought significant problems to the electricity grid in the mountainous areas of the municipalities of Elbasan, Librazhd, Gramsh and Përrenjas.
According to official data, damage has been found to the distribution network and low-voltage poles, leading to temporary power outages.
Currently, around 700 subscribers in the Elbasan Region remain without power supply, while some lines have partially returned to service.
Specifically:
• Feeder 6, Librazhd Substation – partially operational in the Borovo, Stërblevo and Zabzun areas;
• Feeder 4, Polis – Librazhd Substation – partially operational in the Vilan, Sopot and Qafë Dardhë areas;
• Feeder 3, Gramsh Substation – partially operational in the areas of Tunjë, Kushovo and Pishaj Municipalities.
OSHEE working groups are on the ground and are working non-stop, despite difficult weather conditions and snowstorms, with the aim of restoring normal electricity supply as quickly as possible.
Authorities call on citizens for understanding and caution, while the situation is being continuously monitored until the service is fully normalized.
Meanwhile, on the Librazhd-Peshkopi road axis, at the place called Lunik bend, vehicles are blocked due to snow. So far, no measures have been taken to clean and salt the road.
In the first 48 hours, rainfall caused flooding in several cities, while snowfall began overnight, mainly in the north and southeast.
