SPAK has completed the investigation of the lawyer, who is accused of influencing the release of a prisoner, and has sent the case to trial.
The Special Prosecutor's Office has charged the lawyer, a former driver at the Kukes prosecutor's office, with the charge of "Exercising illegal influence on persons exercising public functions".
Lawyer Arian Cengu is suspected of illegally influencing the release of citizen Bari Iseberi, arrested for opposing police officers.

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime on 08.01.2024 submitted to the Court the request with the object: Sending for trial the criminal case in charge of the defendants Arjan CENGU, Bari ISEBERI, Musli LLESHAJ for the commission of criminal offenses: "Exercise of illegal influence on persons exercising public functions", provided by article 245/1 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code (before the changes made by Law no. 43/2021, dated 23.03.2021).
At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Etleva Deda, based on articles based on articles 332/dh, point 1, letter "a" (amended by law no. 41/2021), 332/ë, 332/gj and article 13 point 3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with decision no. 41, dated 06.02.2024, decided:
Accepting the request of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime.
Sending for trial the criminal proceeding no. 272/1 of 2021, of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime, in charge of the defendants:
Arjan Cengu, son of Rushi and Violeta, born on 24.04.1985, born and resident in Kukës, with address: "Spitali" street, n.d. 17, h. 3, 6, with Albanian citizenship, with higher education, civil status "single", judicial status "not convicted"; accused: for committing the criminal offense of "Exercising illegal influence on persons exercising public functions", provided by article 245/1 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code (before the changes made by Law no. 43/2021, dated 23.03. 2021).
Bari ISEBERI, son of Azem and Shkurte, born on 11.08.1962, born and resident in Kukës, with address: Kodër Lumë village, Shtiqen Administrative Unit, with Albanian citizenship, 8th grade education, civil status "married" , with judicial status "not convicted"; accused: for committing the criminal offense "Exercise of illegal influence on persons exercising public functions", committed in collaboration, provided by articles 245/1 paragraph 1 and 25 of the Criminal Code (before the changes made by Law no. 43 /2021, dated 23.03.2021).
Musli LLESHAJ, son of Bajram and Nurije, born on 10.12.1963, born and resident in Kukës, with address: neighborhood no. 5, near "Bar Amerika", with Albanian citizenship, with secondary education, civil status "married", judicial status "not convicted"; accused: for committing the criminal offense "Exercise of illegal influence on persons exercising public functions", committed in collaboration, provided by articles 245/1 paragraph 1 and 25 of the Criminal Code (before the changes made by Law no. 43 /2021, dated 23.03.2021).
to the jury of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, composed of the judge of the preliminary session, addressing the Vice President of the Court for the completion of the jury.
Together with the acts of this criminal proceeding, the request of the defendants Arjan Cengu, Bari Iseberi and Musli Lleshaj for the application of the special trial, the abbreviated one, is sent.
The judgment bundle contains all the acts performed during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding no. 272/1 of 2021 of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime submitted by the prosecutor to the Court, including the statements taken at that stage, as well as those taken at the preliminary hearing.
Against this decision, for sending the case to court, no appeal is allowed.
