The Prosecution of Elbasan has not approved the request of the Institute of Forensic Medicine for permission to bury Arben Lleshi.
Lleshi was executed on December 15 inside Peqin prison, while two months have passed since his murder.
Since no family member has come forward to take the dead body and bury it, IML turned to the prosecutor's office to give approval for the burial to be done by it. Meanwhile, the Prosecution of Elbasan did not approve the request without being convinced that none of the family members showed interest.
The IML must provide a list of the family members of the deceased, together with the relevant reasoning as to why they cannot perform the burial, in order to obtain the authorization of the prosecution to perform this action. In its request, IML presented the fact that the medical-legal expertise was carried out on time and only the interest of the family members has left the body in the morgue in refrigerated conditions.
Lleshi was executed in his cell in the Peqin high security prison at noon on December 15, 2023 by Sokol Mjacaj. It is suspected that the cause of the murder is ordering from abroad for reasons of revenge. Mjacaj continued to stick to his earlier statements, refusing to talk about collaborators or clients if he had one.
