From December 30, 2023, Sali Berisha is under house arrest, a measure determined by the Special Court, following the request of SPAK.
From the day of his isolation, Berisha gave speeches with a microphone from the window to a few representatives of Reestablishment, considering this a violation of the court's decision, according to which he is not allowed to communicate with people other than his close family circle. inside the same apartment where he is suffering the security measure.
Berisha is under investigation for the criminal offense of corruption, together with his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, who is accused by SPAK of having received income worth 5.4 million euros from a construction business in an irregular manner, thanks to the decisions of the government of taken from his father-in-law.
For the first time, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha appeared at SPAK on January 23, where he answered the prosecutors on the Partizani file. The defense also insists on the exclusion of judge Irena Gjoka, on the grounds that she is in conflict of interest with the former prime minister.
