200 million lek damage to the state, GJKKO dismisses Byber's request to change the security measure 

GJKKO rejected the request of the mayor of Tropoja, Rexh Byberi, for a milder security measure than that of house arrest.

Byberi and his subordinate, the vice-president Abedin Kërnaja, are accused of abuse of office in cooperation regarding the opening of 2 road axes.

Byberi and vice-president Kërnaja are accused of having acted in violation of the law on the approval of the territory development regulation for the road axes, "Ship Station Palç - Guri i Lules" and "Qafë Murrizi - Qafë Agri".

The officials have not even interacted with other competent institutions such as: the National Environment Agency, the impact on the environment and the Ministry of Lines regarding the impact of the construction of the new road and the consequences of these works.

According to SPAK, from the technical-topographical expertise, it results that the opening of the roads contrary to the legal and by-law acts has brought an economic damage of 277 million ALL or about 2.5 million euros.
