The national protest against the government, which has entered its 28th day today, has been joined by one of the most well-known figures of civic resistance in Albania, Mother Liza, the symbol of the residents of "May 5", who clashed with the police during the demolition of their homes.

Speaking to the protesters, she stated that she has decided to join this movement, as, according to her, Prime Minister Edi Rama should leave power as soon as possible.

" I decided to join because this one should have left an hour ago, but he didn't leave with 'Rama go away', he wants to beat him, just like he kicked us out of our homes. They dragged me away, 1,500 police surrounded my house, they put my children in prison ," said Mother Liza.

She accused the government of leaving citizens without economic support, while saying that her family has been left homeless and has been forced to change their rental apartment several times.

" I am without money and without a house. We have changed houses four times. He only increased my pension by 2 thousand lek. He is only used to cheating, because he has money to support the whole world, not Albania ," she said.

In her speech, Mother Liza also reacted to the statements of Prime Minister Rama, who previously described Albanians as "sheep".

" He called us sheep, who are the sheep? A man who is a man comes out before the people, he doesn't hide ," she declared.

In conclusion, the symbol of the "May 5" resistance said that the protest should not stop until the prime minister leaves.

" We have taken a house, the facade is black, there is nothing inside. This protest should end when Edi Rama leaves ," said Mother Liza.
