The Albanian Army Special Forces have conducted a joint naval exercise with Italian forces, within the framework of the operation codenamed "Neptune Strike 26", emphasizing the importance of security in water spaces in an increasingly tense international context.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the exercise focused on combating drug trafficking and other illegal activities at sea, as well as ensuring the security of strategic waterways.
The official announcement emphasizes that the Albanian Special Forces, together with Italian allies, have engaged in joint training operations to increase interoperability and effectiveness in maritime environments.
"Neptune Strike 26. Albanian Special Forces together with Italian allies in action! Joint exercise against illegal activities and ensuring the safety of waterways," the announcement reads.
This exercise comes at a time when military cooperation between NATO member countries is intensifying, due to security challenges and new risks at the global level.
The development of "Neptune Strike 26" coincides with rising tensions in several regions of the world, including the Middle East, where escalating conflict situations have raised concerns about broader destabilization.
Security experts assess that such exercises are part of preventive efforts to ensure military readiness and protect strategic interests in international maritime transport routes.
However, Albanian authorities have not directly linked this exercise to specific geopolitical developments.
