From Yemen to Theth/ The tourist had booked two nights at the Prek Kodra

It was planned as an unforgettable getaway in the heart of the Albanian Alps, but for a tourist from Yemen and his family, their vacation in Theth ended in 'ruin'.

He had booked two nights at the Eagles Villas Theth tourist complex, but when he arrived there, the buildings had been demolished by the Territory Protection Inspectorate. The complex, owned by Prek Kodra, a name already on the SPAK wanted list, was part of a wider government crackdown on illegal construction. No one had thought to notify the customers who had booked and paid.

"I'm with my family, I made a reservation and now I don't know where to go. This is not normal for your country. I come to be happy, but I'm faced with this situation that no one informed me about," said the indignant tourist, also showing the reservation on the phone.

This event comes amid the political and institutional clash over construction in Theth, where Prime Minister Rama himself has accused the prosecution of "protecting illegality," while on the other hand prosecutors oppose political interference.
