Rama's action for public spaces, Vlora businesses in protest: We are being

Following the order of Edi Rama, an action has been launched by local authorities in Vlora to clear public spaces.

The action has put dozens of businesses along the Lungomare, one of the most frequented tourist areas on the southern coast, on alert. The operation aims to remove all objects in public spaces, but has sparked strong reactions from local entrepreneurs, who say they were caught by surprise and at the worst possible moment.

“How can you tear us down when it is the most important month of the year for us?” says one of the businessmen. He adds that the action should have been taken either before the elections, or after the end of the season, so as not to seriously affect the vital income of tourism operators.

Another citizen, who returned from abroad to open a business on Lungomare, confides with disappointment: "I've been opening the bar for a month. I invested everything. It's my first year here, I came back with great desire, but now I'm thinking of leaving again. You can't be hit like this without warning, in the name of an action that could be done later."

The voices of concern do not stop there. All citizens and local entrepreneurs are of one mind: the implementation of the law is necessary, but not at this time. According to them, this action not only leads them to bankruptcy, but also seriously damages the image of Vlora in the face of thousands of tourists who have begun to descend on the coast.

"Give us time, postpone it until after the season. No one is trying to break the law, but we are asking to be treated as people who work and support their families with this work," appeals another citizen.
