SPAK very well for arresting Vangjush Dako and the secretary of the Ministry of Health, but in the hands of the prosecutors there are even more sensitive files, which have been kept in a drawer for years...
The arrest of Vangjush Dako has once again reopened the debate on the investigations of the Special Prosecutor's Office. The accusations against him have raised questions, while there are many who say that SPAK is not going to higher levels.
For years, SPAK has had some very sensitive files in its hands, either for left-wing or right-wing politicians. Starting from the government, a very sensitive file is the one regarding the privatization of the properties of the Port of Saranda. The defendant is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka. The concession was granted when she was Minister of Defense while the current president was Chief of Staff. The minister was called to SPAK twice, but it seems that there are no official charges against her.
DP has filed several lawsuits against the Minister of Transport Belinda Balluku. One of them is the concession for the pier in the Port of Durrës. It is not known at all what is happening with this file.
Another flagrant issue is that of concessions in health, where the main accused is Ilir Beqaj, but also many of his former subordinates. Beqja was called to SPAK several times over the years, but it seems as if the file has been forgotten.
Regarding the other files, one of the biggest affairs is undoubtedly the CEZ-DIA agreement. According to the data provided by SPAK, in the hands of the prosecutors is a lawsuit by the lawyer Romeo Kara, who has sued the former prime minister Sali Berisha and the former president Ilir Meta. Meta was questioned, but there were no developments.
A separate file is also that of the privatization of OSHEE by CEZ. Former prime minister Berisha was sued in this file.
SPAK has in hand several other files against Ilir Meta. We have a lawsuit for abuse of office, another one for lobbying in the US. Likewise for aesthetic interventions. There is also a lawsuit for hiding assets.
It is the lawsuit against Monika Kryemadhi for connections with the Russians. There is no information on whether criminal proceedings have been initiated or not.
Another file is that of Partizani Complex. We have a lawsuit against former prime minister Berisha, former minister Arben Imami and Berisha's son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltez. SPAK interrogated several people, but forgot to ask the boss, Sali Berisha.
The Gërdec file should not be forgotten. Fatmir Mediu was sent to the court, but SPAK divided the file into two parts, investigating and clearing the case. The former prime minister's son is at risk in the meantime.
There are two lawsuits against Berisha. One is that of his former bodyguard Izet Hxhia, who accuses him of dozens of crimes. Meanwhile, there is a lawsuit filed by the Haklaj family. A few weeks ago, Aishe Haklaj was questioned, who gave 12 hours of testimony against Berisha.
