Democratic Party protesters have thrown Molotov cocktails and fireworks towards the prime minister's office.

The protest organized by the Democratic Party began with tensions in front of the Prime Minister's Office building.

After the gathering, some protesters threw fireworks and Molotov cocktails towards the government building. In response, police forces used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protesters and bring the situation under control.

Up to now, there is no official information about injuries or arrests, while the situation remains tense and evolving.

Around 1,500 police officers have been deployed to ensure order and security, while numerous forces have been deployed to several sensitive points in the capital. The increased police presence has been placed near the former Villa 31, the former residence of Enver Hoxha, which was one of the areas where tensions were registered during the last protest.

According to the message distributed in the structures of the Democratic Party, the protest is part of a political action aimed at the removal of the government. As stated, there were no speeches at today's protest, but only a rally. The opposition leaders have not spoken about a specific scenario, as they have stated that they have left it up to the protesters.

However, the scenario of today's protest is expected to be similar to the February 28 rally, where opposition protesters marched through the streets of Tirana.

During their march, protesters threw Molotov cocktails through the streets of Tirana, burning trash cans, culminating in Molotov cocktails being thrown at the villa of former dictator Enver Hoxha, in the former Blloku area.

The protest takes place on a symbolic day for the Democrats, which coincides with March 22, the date that marks the victory of the Democratic Party in the first pluralist elections in 1992. Meanwhile, the same day also coincides with the holiday of Sultan Novruz for the Bektashi community.
