Today, October 6, 2025, the new academic year has officially begun in all higher education institutions in Albania.
Of the approximately 20,200 high school graduates across the country, more than half, around 60%, have chosen to pursue their studies at the University of Tirana, making it the most preferred center of higher education for this year.
The most sought-after programs this admissions season have been those in the fields of law, economics, and social sciences, reflecting the high interest of young people in fields with great employment potential.
Meanwhile, a significant expansion has also been observed in the number of enrollments in two-year professional programs, which offer practical training and rapid entry into the labor market.
A new element that sets this year apart from previous ones is the launch of several new study programs that offer double degrees, creating expanded opportunities for collaboration with international universities and study abroad experiences.
