The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, during his visit to the USA, met with Congressman Brian Babin, representative of Texas, with whom he appreciated the continuous assistance that the USA has given and is giving, for the fight against corruption and strengthening the justice system.
The vice-president of the Democratic Party, Kreshnik Çollaku, commented on this visit, saying that it is not super-news that he is participating in the forum of the International Democratic Union, since it is already a fact that he is recognized as the leader of the Democratic Party by the international community.
"The purpose of the visit has two plans. The first of the most international nature, the union of right-wing parties is developed internationally. The second Basha will have bilateral meetings in the White House and in DASH", said Çollaku.
But analyst Mentor Kikia has a different approach. While it is stated that Basha's visit to the USA is a political trip that will not bring any impact on DP, according to Kiki, it does not make him a good politician.
"I believe that Albanian opinion has passed that period of fascination. I think now is the time for Albanian politics to stop behaving with a childish mentality of humility and servility, but to present itself with the dignity of a partner country. I don't think a visit by Basha makes him a better politician. A better politician will make approaches to problems in Albania, projects for a better governance, vision for a better Albania. Approach to real problems. The visit is simply a political trip, but I don't believe it will have any kind of impact on political approaches in Tirana", said Kikia in "Studio Live" to journalist Arbër Hitaj.
But on the other hand, Çollaku said that there is no need for photos to affirm the fact that the USA is in full support of DP.
"I don't understand your surprise. He is the chairman of the DP. There is no need to produce an event or a super event, photos or exposure of meetings. No need for pictures to assert a fact that the US is in full support of DP. The meeting in the US is the largest of the center-right parties at the global level. It is not a concern or a strategy to take photos, but when there are activities, it is not a drama when taking photos. This is one of the proofs that the course of the DP is fully compatible with the US. A photo does not change reality", he said in "Report TV".
