Journalist Lutfi Dervishi declared that there is a governance crisis in Albania, not a parliamentary crisis. Dervishi emphasized that in 4 mandates of government, one of the scandals would be enough to bring down the government. He added that the government has functioned better by managing successive crises, which, according to him, are related to elite corruption.
"Governments have not fallen, the country has two challenges; the need for rotation and the inability to do so. We have a governance crisis, not a parliamentary crisis. One of the many scandals would be enough to bring down the government. It is the fourth mandate and it has not been able to govern, but only by managing the crises that arise due to massive, elite, not capillary corruption ," he said for the show 'Off the Record' on A2 CNN.
According to him, even if the American president were to lead the opposition, he would have no chance of winning due to aggressive patronage and inequality in the elections.
"The crisis comes with elections, but here elections are an invitation to enter into a crisis. At the moment when there are accepted elections, the country has done very well, there has been stability like in '92, 2005, 2013. At the moment when they are not regular, the country enters into a crisis. Even if Donald Trump comes to lead the opposition, he has no chance of winning, not because of the people but because of an aggressive patronage system. The elections are not equal, you have no chance of winning against the party-state ," he added.
