Journalist Mentor Kikia has commented on the composition of the so-called "Peace Board", questioning the real interests of the countries that have become part of it. According to him, up to this stage, only Kosovo seems to have a direct state interest.
“Of those who are on the Peace Board so far, only Kosovo is the state that benefits, or has real interests as a state,” says Kikia. He emphasizes that for Pristina, relations with the United States remain essential for the country’s security and international future.
"Because security, territorial integrity, and the fight to join international institutions still depend on relations with the US," the journalist declares.
As for the other participating countries, Kikia is critical, describing them as countries with democratic problems and long-term leaders in power.
"The others are leaders in non-democratic countries who have been in power for 20 years and have gone to report to the 'commander' because they don't know how things are going. Of course, not empty-handed," he says.
In his analysis, the journalist also brings to attention the case of Venezuela, as an example of relations with the US. “Venezuela showed that 'you can't joke with German flour,'” says Kikia, implying the consequences that clashes with powerful international factors can have.
“That's the Peace Board,” he concludes.
