New details have been revealed regarding the operation conducted by SPAK in collaboration with French authorities in Tirana, to crack down on Call Centers.
Journalist Klodiana Lala reports that the owners of the Call Center have been declared wanted, while during the search, many computers, phones, documents with operator data, as well as data regarding foreign victims who have fallen prey to fraud, were found.
As for the police officer who was escorted, it is learned that he was an employee at Police Station No. 1 in the capital. His phone was taken and his apartment was searched.
The action took place in the area near the "Sami Frashëri" school, and it is learned that the operation was carried out in cooperation with French authorities.
A police officer was accompanied during the intervention, while there is currently no official reaction from the institutions regarding further details.
This development comes after a series of recent operations against Call Centers in the country. Just a few days ago, the State Police cracked down on a fraud ring that is suspected of defrauding European citizens of around 50 million euros, arresting 10 people and placing 4 others on the wanted list.
Meanwhile, in another earlier SPAK action, 8 people were arrested and 3 others were declared wanted, indicating an intensification of investigations into this activity.
