Transport Operators warn of line disruptions: Oil is hitting us, institutions

Public transport associations have raised the alarm about the consequences of the increase in fuel prices, warning that urban and intercity lines may undergo changes that will directly affect citizens. According to sector representatives, high oil costs are making it difficult to continue normal service, increasing the risk of reducing the fleet in circulation.

In a statement to the media, they requested intervention from institutions, emphasizing that the situation requires concrete measures such as reducing taxes, increasing ticket prices, or financial compensation for operators.

Representatives of the associations warn that in the absence of a response, the number of buses in circulation will decrease due to the inability to afford fuel costs, which is expected to bring more delays and difficulties for citizens.

"We ask for the understanding of citizens. If the fleet is reduced, this comes from the lack of response of the institutions ," they said.
