The Regional Directorate of the National Food Authority Vlora expresses its deep concern for the latest incident, which involved some young patients from Poland, who were on vacation in Shkodër and traveled to Vlora. At the moment, we would like to assure the general public that the patients' situation is not critical and AKU is checking all subjects according to the tourists' itinerary.
We call on the operators to be careful and not to operate food service without being authorized and licensed in relation to food safety criteria and to be careful with storage conditions in the high temperatures of the season.
DRAKU Vlora is cooperating with local health authorities and law enforcement agencies to conduct a toxicological investigation into the matter. Our primary objective is to determine the source and cause of this foodborne illness affecting patients.
