The fire on Mount Shpirag seems to have been brought under control.
Defense Minister Niko Peleshi has shared on his Facebook photos of firefighters working to normalize the situation.
According to the minister, the situation is under control in this area, while the number of officers who have engaged in the complete isolation of the fire has reached 100.
" The situation is under control and the fire is moving towards complete isolation on Mount Shpirag, in the municipality of Berat. In support of the forces on the ground, 50 more troops from the Pošnje ward were engaged, bringing to 100 the number of members of the Armed Forces who are working intensively until its final extinguishment. Due to the difficult terrain that does not allow intervention with firefighting equipment, the Cougar helicopter came to the rescue in the early hours of the morning, continuing the intervention from the air throughout the day," writes Peleshi .
