The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has considered illegal and ridiculous the request of the majority, addressed to the Constitutional Court, regarding a request for an opinion from the Venice Commission regarding the mandate of deputy Olta Xhaçka.
By means of a reaction on the 'X' platform, Bardhi says that the Constitutional Court has finished examining the case and should restore the authority for the protection of the Constitution and the rule of law as soon as possible.
"The socialist majority asks the Constitutional Court to receive an advisory opinion from the Venice Commission on how constitutional judges should read their decision no. 1/2023 for the mandate of strategic deputy Olta Xhaçka. The request, besides being illegal, is ridiculous to the point of absurdity!
The Constitutional Court has finished examining the case and must restore the authority for the protection of the Constitution and the rule of law as soon as possible. No further delay can be tolerated and it would be the end of constitutionalism in the country ," the reaction said.
