The experiment with the new Thumanë-Kashar highway fails. The axis was quickly inaugurated by Prime Minister Rama and unlike what happened with the Llogara tunnel, here the toll was quickly established. Today, the application of the fee started for the first time, but the system went into chaos.
There were many delays at the counters and this led to kilometers of traffic on the highway.
Citizens were faced with an unexpected situation, also regarding the fee they had to pay. Initially, it was said that the fee will be 2.1 euros, but many citizens said that they were charged 270 lek. There were also others who complained that they made the payment in euros and the change was returned to Lek.
Even in appearance, it seems that almost half of the freeway was engulfed by traffic. Many citizens were "baking" in the sun because of the untrained staff at the counters, who were extremely late in passing cars. Then, the "Gener 2" company of Bashkim Ulaj was forced to raise the beam and allow cars to pass without a fee. It is not yet known why this situation happened, was it the fault of the system, the staff or the flow was out of the forecast.
The company itself has announced that today was a temporary test in the toll system. Although it is considered a success for them, in fact the situation was chaotic. However, "Gener 2" states that the highway will continue to be free of charge for another period of time, until the systems are in full operation. We do not know how the situation will continue, but the signals are that the citizens are financially strapped and are "baking" in the middle of the heat./ Pamphlet
