On the 13th day of the civic mobilization, protesters openly articulated the demand for early elections for the first time. The movement has also been joined by immigrants in several European countries, and the calls are now directed not only against the government, but against the entire political caste.

What began days ago as a civic reaction has now transformed into a broader revolt against the Albanian political class. On the 13th evening of the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, participants not only reiterated the demand for the removal of Edi Rama, but also openly articulated the need for early elections and a new political representation.

Currently, the protest is continuing with a march on the streets of Tirana, as hundreds of citizens hold national flags and banners with messages against the government and the political class. Under the slogans of “Revolution”, “New Albania” and “More Tomorrow”, the protesters are marching towards the country’s main institutions.

Unlike the traditional protests of recent years, where the clash took place between the majority and the opposition, this time on the boulevard, chants against both sides were heard. "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison," "New Albania," "Your end has come," and "Albania is ours" were some of the slogans that dominated the evening.

One of the most significant moments of the protest was when a young man addressed the crowd with a direct question: “I have a question for the crowd. Do you want early elections? Do you want this revolt to go somewhere? Yes or no?”

The response came immediately from thousands of protesters gathered on the boulevard, who erupted in a resounding "Yes," and then the idea was floated for the movement to create its own branch.

The protest is increasingly taking on the characteristics of a movement that challenges the entire political establishment. Criticism has been heard on the podium and among the crowd not only against Edi Rama's government, but also against the traditional opposition, which according to the protesters has failed to represent the citizen's dissatisfaction.

Meanwhile, the revolt has already crossed Albania's borders. Hundreds of Albanian immigrants have organized in recent days in Milan, Florence, Bologna, Genoa, Brussels, London and Berlin, where they have held solidarity rallies and expressed support for the protesters in Tirana.

With red and black flags and placards in their hands, they have called for political change and a different Albania. Many of these rallies have been attended by students, professionals, family members of immigrants, and diaspora activists.

After almost two weeks of non-stop protests, what is happening in Tirana seems to have long since gone beyond the framework of a single cause. The main demand taking shape in the square is now political change, early elections, and the removal of a political class that protesters consider responsible for the state of the country.
