The final match of the 1/8 stage of the 2026 World Cup will take place in Vancouver, Canada, tonight at 10:00 PM, where Switzerland will face Colombia for a place in the quarterfinals.
The match is expected to be quite balanced between the two teams, although according to the betting odds a slight advantage is given to the Latin American representative. Colombia started the tournament not considered among the favorites, but so far it has been one of the biggest surprises of the World Cup.
In Switzerland, the focus is on 20-year-old striker Manzambi, who has stood out with his performances this season. Ahead of the challenge, coach Murat Yakin praised his team's young talent.
"Manzambi is a versatile player, with great quality and potential," he said.
Switzerland's attacking four, consisting of Manzambi, Breel Embolo, Dan Ndoye and Ruben Vargas, have been in very good form throughout the tournament, scoring eight of the nine goals scored by the Swiss in this World Cup.
On the other hand, Colombia relies on the qualities of Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez, while they have also stood out for their defensive organization. Up to this stage of the tournament, the Colombians have only conceded one goal, building a very solid defensive unit.
In the pre-match press conference, Colombia coach Nestor Lorenzo expressed confidence in his team's qualities.
"I have excellent players at my disposal who know how to dictate the pace of the match," he said.
