Lawyer Edmond Petraj spoke about the suspension of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and the statements of Prime Minister Rama, who considered it a brutal intervention in the executive branch.
Lawyer Petraj told ABC News that there is an excess of competence regarding the measure of suspending a minister.
" There has been a continuous clash between democracy and justice that is giving rise to its own problems. Seeing the continuity of some mayors, these are the defects that must definitely be intervened. And they must be seen continuously. In my opinion, we have exceeded our competence regarding the measure of suspension of a minister and it has entered the territory of an institution. The exceeding of competence is that a constitutional functionary, minister or deputy prime minister, we have an appointment, decree and vote in parliament. But Rama has silently respected the court's decision... but has not executed it because he says he will ask the Constitutional Court and this is a right that the constitution provides for. Albania, the only country without a deputy prime minister", he said.
During the interview, Petraj praised Duman's figure and work, emphasizing that under the leadership of SPAK he has shown integrity and correctness in relation to the institution.
He also added that Duman's successor must also be a very serious figure and that the most important criterion, according to the lawyer, is personal integrity.
" This institution must have the same integrity and then as Mr. Dumani was. I think the four figures have the right values. But it remains to be seen who will represent the institution worthily for 3 years. Who will be the character who will manage part of the internal problems of the institution. But the most important selection criterion will be personal integrity and correctness for the institution. I think that Mr. Dumani is classified as one of the most correct people, integrity and is one of the unscrupulous people in the affairs. The new candidacy must be very serious, correct, especially in the coming days where there will be many files... So I think that the figure who will be there this time will have an extraordinary volume of work because he will bear the weight of the files and investigations that have been carried out ", he said.
