The phenomenon of online fraud using the name of the government platform e-Albania has returned again, raising concerns among citizens.
Numerous reports indicate that users are receiving fake messages, which appear as official notifications for vehicle fine payments.
These messages contain fake links, which direct citizens to pages that imitate the official platform. Their goal is to steal personal and banking data of users who fall prey to the fraud. It is reported that the messages are distributed from foreign numbers, in many cases with international prefixes, which increases suspicions of an activity organized abroad.
Online security specialists advise citizens to exercise maximum caution and not click on unknown links. Verification of any notification should be done only through official e-Albania channels.
Meanwhile, it remains unclear how widespread this scam is and whether any people have been financially harmed. Despite constant warnings from the police and calls for caution, online scams continue to spread.
