The Book Fair has opened its doors today in Tirana, in its 26th edition.
The well-known journalist and writer Ilir Ikonomi, who comes to the fair with the book "Apostulli", the first of the three volumes dedicated to Fan Noli's biography, said that a phenomenon he notices in Albania is that book prices are very expensive.
"In Albania, books are very expensive compared to salaries. In the US I can buy a good book at most 20 dollars, while here an ordinary book costs that much. There is something wrong here and I believe that the readers are afraid of this", said Ikonomi for "Open".
While the writer Namik Dokle said that the readers are more women than men, as according to him men are satisfied with cafes.
