"For 71 thousand lek, they took 11 million from me", Fiqiri

Fiqiri Bruçi confessed the whole ordeal of his extortion through the microcredit scheme.

Bruçi said it all stemmed from an overdraft he took out at a second-tier bank in 2006 to pay for his children's education.

He underlined that by 2008 he had paid the entire principal, since he had given the bank 215,000 from the amount of 169,000 new overdrafts he received.

When the wife changed jobs and the bank, they thought they had closed the overdraft, but in fact 71,000 lek of interest remained.

In 2016, Bruçi said that it was announced that this part of the unpaid overdraft was bought by MCA Albania for 280 thousand new ALL.

Bruçi emphasizes that MCA Albania blocked the salary of all family members and forced them to take a loan to repay the first loan.

He said that MCA Albania has extorted 1.1 million new alleks from him for an interest of 71,000 alleks that he had not paid.

" On June 28, 2006, my wife received her salary from a bank, and in order to repay the loans, we are forced to take an overdraft of 169,000 new ALL. We paid this money regularly without any late interest until 10.07.2008 and the paid amount of the obligation was 215 thousand ALL, so the principal and interest were paid. At this moment, my wife changed her job and received her salary at another bank. We went to the first baka to see how much was left, as we were about to pour them out.

In 2008, they told us at the bank that you don't have to pay here after you have paid the principal, but you have to go to the central office to see how much is left of the loan. We wrote a letter to the bank and it didn't answer us and we lost our minds that we don't have to pay anymore. In 2016 MCA informs us by phone that you have a loan to pay. They took us 8 years ago and we go to meet Andis Gjoka at the MCA and tell him that we don't have a loan and that we have paid it. They told us that we bought your loan from the bank for 280,000 old lek and that you should repay it to us. We wrote to the mother about the debt that we had left and here you have it in writing that the debt is 7 thousand 100 ALL and where it is announced that this debt was sold to MCA Albania for 280 thousand ALL.

Without offering any agreement, they blocked our wages, while we had opened a court. My wife and son and I had our wages frozen and we had nothing to eat. MCA forced us to take a loan, we agreed to take that loan and repay that loan.

From 2016 onwards, every year at the end of the year they put a seizure on my salary and forced me to pay 1 million ALL to take it away from me. I continued to pay and I was waiting for the court's decision. From all the documentation I have, I have paid a total of 11 million to the MCA for the old 70 thousand lek ", he said in "Euronews Albania".
