Journalist Eraldo Harlicaj said that drugs in Albania have become a normal and disturbing phenomenon.
Harlicaj made the comments on the show "Good Morning Albanians", where he said that it is very easy to find drugs in Tirana, including heroin.
He said that heroin is a type of drug that is sold mainly to people who do not have much economic potential, and according to him, it costs between 35-50 thousand old lek per gram.
Harlicaj said that near the 'Bajram Curri' School in Tirana there is an abandoned building, where people who drink heroin gather, leaving syringes on the streets, which can also spread diseases to the nearby community.
"It is very easy to find drugs, heroin and other types of drugs in Tirana. Let's not forget that the Police carried out two large operations, 'Temple 1' and 'Temple 2', where around 600 people were arrested for drug distribution in schools and hospitals.
Each area has its spatator. Even the fact that the Police arrests them, those places do not stay very empty, but are filled by young spatators. You can also find drugs on telegram, in these groups. What worries me is that drugs have become normalized. Heroin is a drug that is used for people who do not have much economic capacity.
It can go from 35-50 thousand lek for one gram of heroin. While cocaine is mainly used for people who have an economic potential. Be it to doctors, to directors, to policemen, even to deputies. The area near Bajram Curri School is an abandoned building there that has turned into a hangout for heroin addicts. The police know, but have not taken action. Syringes and materials are found that can turn into an epidemic for the residents", said Harlicaj.
