The Ethics Secretariat has decided to exclude MP and leader of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj, from the proceedings of the Parliament for a period of 20 days.
The decision came after a request from the Socialist Party parliamentary group, regarding the incident that occurred during Monday's plenary session.
During the session, Shehaj occupied the parliament's rostrum and refused to vacate it even after being called to attention. This action disrupted the normal course of parliamentary proceedings.
After reviewing the case, the Ethics Secretariat imposed the disciplinary measure that excludes the MP from parliamentary activities for 20 days.
We recall that in Monday's session, Agron Shehaj was expelled from the Parliament, after clashing with the Socialists over the residents of Rrjoll. The latter have been protesting for 1 month, as they oppose the construction of the Bashkim Ulaj resort, on land they claim as theirs. He accused these residents of violence.
During his speech, Shehaj said that the residents of Rrjoll are being raped and their property is being robbed by the oligarch Bashkim Ulaj.
"No one spoke here about an issue that has affected the majority of Albanians. This has happened thanks to corrupt rulers. This here is a picture that shows how an Albanian citizen is being violated. The chairwoman of the session turned off Shehaj's microphone and that was enough to start a clash with the Socialist Party deputies.
