Key person in the "Aruba" file, Lala and Hoxha reveal the reason why

Journalists Klodiana Lala and Artan Hoxha have shared new details about Artur Shehu, one of the names mentioned in the file known as "Aruba", which is related to investigations into drug trafficking, money laundering and property alienation.

Invited to the show "The Unexposed", they commented on Shehu's movements outside of Albania, his status in the United States, and the allegations included in the investigative materials.

According to Klodiana Lala, the documents in the file show that after the meeting in Aruba, Artur Shehu continued traveling to several European countries.

"The file says that Artur Shehu, after being wiretapped in Aruba, appears to have traveled to Majorca, Belgium, and the Netherlands, with the intention of talking about business issues related to drugs, money laundering, and property," said Lala.

The journalist added that, due to his status in the US, his extradition would be difficult.

"I doubt he can be extradited. He has political asylum in the US. What does this character represent in the US? We don't know ," Lala said.

On the other hand, Artan Hoxha provided more details about Shehu's life in the United States, emphasizing that he has been living in Miami for years and is engaged in business activities.

"Artur Shehu lives in Miami, he has a business there. The American media has written about him several times. He has also been investigated by the FBI several times. He has been cleared of the investigations ," Hoxha declared.

According to the journalist, political asylum status is the reason why Shehu cannot travel to Albania.

"Since he has asylum status, he cannot come to Albania, but he comes around because he loses his asylum status ," he said.

Hoxha added that, despite verifications carried out over the years by Albanian and foreign authorities, there have been no restrictive measures against Shehu.

"SPAK has investigated him, and Antimafia has also investigated him, but his status is a free citizen," the journalist said.

The statements of the two journalists come at a time when the "Aruba" file continues to be the focus of investigations, while SPAK is verifying the connections, assets and activities of the persons involved in this matter.
