The election commissioners have temporarily suspended the voting process in Himare village. This is because citizens have gone to vote with expired identity cards, while the law allows this.
It is learned that 100 people have appeared until 09:00 at the voting centers with expired cards.
The current commander of the Himarë Municipality, Arqile Bollano, has stated that they have notified the Central Election Commission (CEC) and emphasizes that according to the law, voting with expired identity cards is not allowed.
In an effort to address this problem and ensure that the process meets legal standards, the commissioners are awaiting further guidance from the CEC.
The elections in Himare are being held, after the arrest of Fredi Beleri for electoral corruption and then also of the acting president, Jorgo Goro, for the alienation of properties in Himare.
