Journalist Mentor Kikia spoke about the gunshot wounding of a police officer in Kinostudio, Tirana, where 42-year-old Klerent Bozhani shot police officer Edlir Alleshi with a gun during a pursuit.
Invited to the column "Opinion" on News24, Kikia said that the policemen who fell victims underestimated the security measures and showed negligence. According to him, this is the moment when the police forces will have to establish a safety standard in the performance of work.
"The policemen who fell victims were part of the underestimation of the security measures. From early on I remember that in some serious incidents, policemen have fallen victims as part of negligence, an armed man, knowing that he has symptoms, should be considered very dangerous. Must be treated as a high risk person. Victims have fallen after writing in front of the perpetrators. It is a moment when the police forces will have to set a standard in the performance of the work," said Kikia.
