Lawyer Spartak Ngjela has said that those who criticize the investment plan in the island of Sazan by the son-in-law of the former president of the USA, Donald Trump, do not want the development of Albania.
Ngjela said that the island of Sazan is Albanian territory and there is no difference if the investment is made there or in another part of the country. He also said that he did not believe that the Albanian government would give this investment for political interests.
"If the investment is as they say, it is a big thing. They talked nonsense, the opponents in the newspapers. They sold Sazan Island. What is the difference if the investment was made in Vlora and Sazan? What a difference is the coast from Vlora to Saranda from the coast of Sazan.
What difference does it make if he makes it a tourist town in Vlora or in Sazan? They do not want the development of Albania. It is big money that would be played there, if the investment was the same. The law is that either there is a tender, or the first applicant gets it.
This may have been the first applicant, given to this one. Trump is not the president of America, Biden is. If the government had a political character, it would not have bothered Biden", said Ngjela to Euronews Albania.
