In the entire history of the Albanian transition, the politician who has set fire to the country every time it has had its own problems has been and remains former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. He, in every case that he saw the pisk work, rose up and burned Albania to save himself. He did it to protect or take power until yesterday, he is doing it to escape justice today, asking for a second 97' as he feels the danger of prison.
But for the well-known lawyer Spartak Ngjela, this time his plan will fail. He says that nothing will happen in the July 11 protest called by Berisha, even though this time he is not doing this protest to come to power, but to escape the criminal process.
On the other hand, Ngjela also spoke in a television studio about the decision of the Conference of Presidents, which ruled that the removal of Berisha's mandate will not be requested. According to Njjela, this was a fair decision, as it was within the law, as Berisha was absent with reason.
Likewise, the lawyer said that the technical government that the opposition is looking for to guarantee free elections is a request that does not work, even if it is realized and accepted by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Excerpt from the interview:
- Lawyer Ngela. The Conference of Presidents has judged that the removal of Berisha's mandate will not be requested, what is this thing for you?
It was within the law to remove the mandate. The Constitution does not leave it and the law does not cover it because a reason must be seen, but Berisha has a reason, the state has banned him and he is in criminal proceedings. When you are sick or when you are in criminal proceedings, it continues without a problem.
-Enkelejd Alibeaj was talking about the creation of a new political force, which apparently has been decided, and the request to gather allies, especially new parties and electoral parties. Have you had any recent communication about this since you had a conversation earlier?
At this moment, I am not in talks, let's see what will happen and we cannot talk ahead of time.
- On the other hand, the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, have come up with a draft resolution through which they demand the unification of the entire opposition and through which they also demand the crime of a technical government to guarantee free and fair elections and together with them demand and the vote of the diaspora. These are the elements for free choice, in your judgment it can work?
The first part that Alibeaj says has no political value, the second part that says about the voting of the diaspora, he is right there, it should be done because it is a word of the Constitution. Not allowing the Albanian citizens who are in the west to vote and thinking that they will all return and come here at a time that the world has resolved by law within the state that requires it, is therefore a serious mistake and a violation of the constitution. Whether or not the majority will take it over depends on it, but if it doesn't take it at a time that has been raised as an issue. At a time when cases have been raised, they violate the Constitution and even constitute a criminal offense in most cases. But starting from the problem that they are the majority and have the right in Parliament, we cannot talk about what might happen next. Albanian public opinion is electorally damaged.
- The oppositions in Albania, especially the right-wing opposition, have always before the elections asked for a technical government that guarantees free and fair elections, where the example of North Macedonia is taken. How much does it guarantee and what does it change for you?
Nothing, has been done here once and none has been done. It is not there in Macedonia but at the Election Commission and who has the State Police and SHISH. She can do this and at the same time holds two positions, and the Minister of the Interior doesn't even do anything because they are idiots. The free vote in Albania is a consequence of the fact that both wings, when they were in power, put their arms into Albania. This can only be prevented by a strong and independent judiciary.
- There is a national protest called by DP on July 11, faith in strength, massiveness assessment? What does Berisha intend to achieve with this?
Until now, he has been a voice in the wilderness and he does not give up on this because he has his medieval character in politics. It's tribal. In these moments, he does not do it to come to power, he does not have politics, but he does it to escape the criminal process, but he cannot escape it because he was arrested by SPAK./ GazetaSot
