There is no end to the shocking stories that come with Oncology doctors. After the publication of the bazaars that took place there, the citizens have narrated their touching stories.
Dashnor Dosti, math teacher, shares on social networks his bad experience with oncologist Edmond Gashi at his clinic 'Megis' 7 years ago. That's when his wife found out that she had a gland in her chest. The services suggested that he perform them at Dr. Mondi's clinic in Astiri.
"He has a little heavy hand, but they say he's good," he says.
REPORTING
It was June 2017. My wife Elvira felt a lump in her right breast and felt very worried. 9 months ago her sister, only a year younger than her, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had been living in Pescara for years and after the operation she continued her medical treatment normally.
Meanwhile, we started to worry a lot. Since we live in Astir, many people recommended the "Megis" medical clinic to us. Almost everyone had visited this clinic for one reason or another. They recommended Dr. Mondi to us with the explanation that he could help us later even in the hospital, if needed.
- His hand is a bit heavy, but he is good, they said. I believed everything and told my friend with conviction that everything will be fine.
We decided to start our visit from this clinic. They left us a schedule and we show up at the appointed date and time. It was just a consultation and the doctor recommended a biopsy as soon as possible. The grain was fully formed, so the biopsy could be done without surgery, but by aspiration of fluid with a syringe. I don't remember the payment, but somewhere in the old 300 thousand I believe.
However, this is not what I want to show. The doctor assured us that visits to the clinic could avoid boring hospital bureaucracies. Then after the biopsy, two weeks of waiting and then the result. Oh what torture! And what emotions when the doctor waited for us and said: "The biopsy turned out very well and there is nothing to worry about. However, this grain is best removed. Choose a fresh time, somewhere from the end of autumn and not now in the summer, we can perform the operation here at the clinic, it's up to you".
We thanked him and left. We were flying. We went home. First to give the good news to her sister. After we had fun and talked for a long time, the sister said to us as if without harm: "Anyway, you have nothing to lose. Come here, I already know many doctors and staff and I also know what the rules are, so come and do another check". I jumped first like a gut on embers. I thought it was a waste of money, in my opinion. Fully convinced of the very good results we got at the "Megis" clinic, I thought that some additional expenses were excessive.
However, I remain in the minority in the month of July everything starts from scratch at the "Spirito Santo" restaurant in Pescara, Italy. The bad thing was that everything had to be started from the beginning and considering the warm weather of August, the results of the checks, which were according to a strict protocol, could only come out in the month of September and the result was Malignant Tumor. Our world turned upside down. How could that be, I said to myself. We did the checks in one of the best clinics in Albania, such as "Megis"
We never went to that clinic again, but even my wife did not return from Italy for 20 months, until she finished the intensive treatment accompanied by additional operations on other organs. We decided to sell everything if it was necessary, but we would no longer carry out any kind of visit or therapy in our country, in the country where we have been regularly paying health insurance for years.
Now that 7 years have passed since the onset of the disease, we believe that we have won the battle with it, but suffering a lot. We lost a lot of time at the beginning of the disease in the famous "Megis" clinic, but the bad experience with it also had its good side, which encouraged us to seek salvation far from our country.
I don't want to go into other details about how her treatment went in the hospital of Ortona in Kieti, as that is the beautiful part of the story, while today I chose to talk only about the bad experience.
Addendum: I was not motivated to write this status simply and only because of the events of the last few days in the oncology hospital of Tirana, of course without excluding them, but I was more motivated because exactly today, when 7 years have passed, Elvira went to Pescara for one of her usual check-ups.
