Civil society, political representatives and hundreds of citizens protested today in front of the premises of the Constitutional Court against the taxation of free professions.

They have opposed the taxation that the government has imposed on all freelancers, describing it as an unfair decision that is causing freelancers to leave the country.

Holding placards with the slogan "Don't sit like protest sheep", the citizens demand the repeal of the government's decision to tax free professions, where according to them this tax will stifle free initiative and self-employment.

As a symbolic sign, as a form of dissatisfaction towards those who did not join the protest, some sheep became part of it.

Even the opposition has expressed against this, calling on the Constitutional Court to annul the government's decision, since according to it, the aim is to eliminate the middle class.

The presence of MP Dhurata Çupi, former MP Belind Kelliçi, Organizational Secretary of DP, Klevis Balliu and Tedi Blushi from the Freedom Party is noticeable.

Also, although separated from the democratic representatives, the protest seems to have united Adriatik Lapaj of the "Alhqiperia Bëhet" movement, who was at the protest accompanied by activist Edlira Çepani and comedian Florian Binaj.

We remind here that the first lawsuit in the Constitutional Court demanding the overthrow of the law that provides for the tax on free professions was filed in February 2024 by 37 opposition MPs.
