Journalist Erl Murati said that SPAK's request to the Assembly to pave the way for Sali Berisha's arrest came as a result of the former prime minister's decision not to appear before the National Bureau of Investigation.
He also stated that Berisha's change of attitude to accept the measure of "house arrest" is to avoid risking prison.
"This request comes after Berisha's determination not to respect the court's decision to appear before the BKH. Berisha says I don't know him and that's why the prosecution is asking for house arrest. He sent this request to the Assembly and it is a consequence of Berisha's decision not to recognize SPAK. If Berisha had accepted it, this would not have happened.
It is unfortunate that an individual who has been prime minister, president, is an expected decision. I believe that due to his stature and age he was placed under house arrest, but otherwise it would be 'prison arrest' because the criminal offense is corruption.
There are two problems, the legal dimension and the second one is the relationship with the opposition, because it does not have the luxury of having a person accused of corruption in charge. This is a hostage taking of the opposition by Berisha.
It's a different approach because Berisha is not implementing the mandatory security measure, but he will respect the other one because he feels that he risks more. In order to avoid prison, he is convinced to respect the security measure", said Murati.
The editor-in-chief of the Albanian newspaper also commented on the situation in which the opposition is, saying that it is completely ruined.
According to Murat, the solution is the reformation and withdrawal of Lulzim Basha and Sali Berisha.
"The opposition as a whole is ruined, non-existent. We live in a country where the majority controls all the powers. The opposition should have the logic to reform. It has remained hostage to two wills, Basha and Berisha, who are not the future, but the past. They cannot bring him to power, because this is the goal of a party.
The dilemma is can he come to power and my answer is no. Berisha has been accused of corruption, he is delegitimized morally and politically. On the other hand, Basha has lost many battles and his party has shrunk. In Tirana, Arlind Qorri received more votes than Lulzim Basha.
The opposition is in ruins. In the opposition camp, there are many blind people who refuse to see the reality" , said Murati.
Regarding Prime Minister Rama's warning about early elections, the analyst said that he is just bluffing.
"Theoretically, the country is ready for early elections. But Rama plays the bluff. Early elections were held in this country in 1997.
When you go to early elections, you show that you are ready to leave power, but Rama plays the bluff to tell those below him that you are not sure of the seat. It is a tool of pressure", he said.
As far as the Justice Reform is concerned, Murati said that he agrees with the statements of the US envoy, Davis Wisner, while adding that without the will of the international factor, it would not have been done.
"It was a more than indirect response from Wisner. Despite the fact that the SP has the merit of approving the Justice Reform, I would say that without the will and monitoring of the USA it would not have been done. The reform was done with the money of American taxpayers, the American Embassy financed it. Reform in Justice is an investment of the international factor", said the analyst for "Panorama Tv".
