The President of the Republic Bajram Begaj started the New Year with an online meeting with FARSH operatives in missions and operations abroad.
Begaj wished for a good year, as he added that the officers are in an important mission, in a task that is at the service of the homeland to maintain peace, security and freedom. The Head of State added that the nation is very grateful to the FARSH operatives.

Dear soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers,
It is a special pleasure for me to meet today in this online format to wish from the bottom of my heart: Happy New Year to you and your families!
In fact, the New Year's holiday is a holiday that brings families together. All of you are physically away from your families, away from your loved ones, but I assure you that, like me, like the General Staff, like the Ministry of Defense, we are in your support. You are in our minds and hearts.
Family joy and warmth belong to the end of the year holidays and you should be close to your families, but today you are on a more important mission, a task that is at the service of the homeland to maintain peace, security and freedom. The nation is very grateful to you.
Albania is a small country, but with great contributions to peace and security. Your very presence and service, from Kosovo, to Bosnia, from Bulgaria, Latvia, the Aegean Sea, Iraq, Sinai and to South Sudan, is clear evidence of our country's commitment and dedication to peace and security not only in the region, but worldwide.
During the year that we are leaving behind, I, in all the visits I have made abroad, I have also met with our contingent serving in missions and everywhere I have gone I have felt extremely filled and proud of the kind words and extraordinary words of words in your address for your work and dedication, for the professionalism you show where you are on a mission. Of course, the mission requires high responsibility and you have fulfilled it.
You are the best ambassadors and, thanks to your service, the national flag that we saw flying, flies everywhere with pride alongside other NATO flags.
Russian aggression against Ukraine has completely changed the security environment. Old and new threats predict and present the necessity of developing and modernizing our Armed Forces.
During 2024, in the conversations I had with the Chief of the General Staff and the Minister of Defense, I was informed that the defense budget has increased and so has what is most important, the support for the military. I believe that it is an obligation to support all military personnel and their families.
Geopolitical dynamics require increasing our contributions to NATO and strengthening our solidarity. Albania will continue to be an active contributor with its participation in missions and operations wherever and whenever required.
Once again, I wish you a happy New Year from the bottom of my heart! Happiness and good health to each of you, to your families, to the Albanian nation!
