The PDIU and the "Chameria" Patriotic Association have remembered the 80th anniversary of the Greek genocide against the Chameria Albanians in the annual tribute at the "Chameria Roses" Monumental Cemetery in Klogjer in Konispol.
In this resting place, more than 2900 Albanians from Chameria have lost their lives after being forcibly expelled from their lands in Chameria.
In this 80th anniversary, deputies of the Assembly of Albania, minister Anila Denaj as deputy of the area, the mayor of Konispolitm Ergest Dule, representatives from Kosovo and many patriotic Albanians from all our native lands were present.
In his speech, the head of the PDIU, Shpëtim Idrizi, said that "we are sorry for the attitudes that Greece holds towards the Cham issue and the law of war", while emphasizing that they expect a public apology from Greece and want to find a solution
" Memory is the prelude to justice. Therefore, on this day we remember with honor and respect the innocent victims of genocide and persecution; we remember those who sacrificed themselves to protect their families and lands. The pain, the suffering, this place motivates us to become the voice of those who can no longer speak. For those who think we will get tired or forget, learn well that our strength comes from the suffering and great injustices of our parents and grandparents, to never stop seeking justice.
Our presence here today, or in all these activities we have done these 5 months, these monumental cemeteries make us even more sensitive as if this genocide happened 2 years ago and not 80 years ago. Because genocide knows no age.
Nothing good can come from genocide and injustice without apologizing and healing it. Forgiveness is divine. And this is what we are looking for from the neighboring country " - said Idrizi.
The head of the PDIU also emphasized that: " We do not blame the Greeks today, the Greek people, nor the current Greek government, for what happened 80 years ago, but we are sorry for the attitudes they hold towards the Cham issue, became the bearer of the circles that came out of time for a country of the European Union, with martial law, with cemeteries, conflicts, with Vorio-Epiriots, forgetting that Albania and Albanians are no longer the ones of the 90s when they emerged from the communist battle of the 50s years.
And while we are waiting for a public apology and want to find a solution, segments of the Greek state, criminals like Napolon Zerva make heroes and raise busts, while the man with three names and three convictions is made an MEP.
We must have a good relationship with Greece because we are all people, and with everyone we have shared bread, we have shared history together. But Greece must understand that it can no longer behave like the head of the Balkans and carry on its feet with ignorance 80 years of genocide and injustice and 84 years of laws and a state of war.
But I have a word for every fellow patriot. The Chamber needs each and every one of you. Every home needs its own sons. Everyone has value in their own home. We must be together for this. PDIU and the association is our home. You may be busy at the moment so I invite everyone. Return to your home, because only together we can give dignity to the Cham name ".
While the chairman of the "Chameria" Patriotic Association, Liljan Idrizaj emphasized in his speech that:
" This year's activities of the 80th anniversary of the commemoration of the Greek genocide on the innocent Cham population shows us that our community, together with Albanian patriots and many friends, are more determined than ever in defense of the Cham issue, as one of the most important causes. important of our national issue.
Today, I call on politics to implement with courage and determination the Resolution for Chameria and to protect our national interests" .
In her speech, the chairman of the PDIU parliamentary group, MP Mesila Doda, said: " We demand respect for those who lost their lives during the massacres." We demand respect for human rights, those rights that are today in international conventions. Albanian politics should not be afraid. Nothing can happen and nothing will happen. Because this is not the wall of oblivion, it is the wall of roses.
As PDIU, we requested that this memorial be a historical cemetery. To be a historical memorial for those who lost their lives in the genocide that happened 80 years ago .
For the former chief negotiator of Kosovo and politician Edita Tahiri, the construction of the Kllogjeri cemetery is a small step for the memory of the genocide against the Albanians of Chameria.
We are the children of patriots, so we must not forget the genocides against Albanians and only united we show you all the place where they are.
In this commemoration meeting, PDIU MPs Nustert Avdulla and Gëzim Ademaj, as well as members of PDIU and the "Chameria" Patriotic Association, greeted each other.
Under the sounds of the funeral march, all the participants placed roses on the stone memorial, as a sign of remembrance of the loss of life of their relatives and loved ones, who lost their lives unjustly 80 years ago due to the Greek genocide.
