Analyst Preç Zogaj was skeptical about the primaries held by the Democratic Party last Sunday.
Commenting on the results in the studio of the show "The Unexposed", Zogaj said that they were promised by Berisha, but other places are no longer doing so, because they are aiming for votes beyond the militants.
" It is a signal that the party has shrunk. It does not have the number it used to have, it has become weak. One reason is the short time. The primaries were promised by Berisha when he took over the leadership of the party, he remained hostage to big promises when he did not have the party, not anymore now that he has the party."
Basha's group did not create a faction and the party has remained ununited. We have a very tight primary because all parties are looking for ways to field potential candidates, but in Europe they have avoided primaries because the challenge is to get votes beyond the militants.
Countries that have tried them for decades no longer do them, and Albania is experimenting with them after 34 years. Primaries when candidates do not face each other, neither in style nor in formation, are just a mouthful. Berisha was left hostage. In these primaries, internal lobbying prevails ," said Zogaj.
