The situation became tense this evening during the opposition protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where some protesters attacked the government building with Molotov cocktails and fireworks, causing flames in some of its exterior parts. The scenario was also warned by the authorities and is similar to episodes recorded in previous protests.
According to footage from the scene, Molotov cocktails were thrown towards the facade of the Prime Minister's Office, setting fire to several exterior elements of the building and creating thick smoke in the area. Meanwhile, fireworks were heard, and the protest took on a violent character for several minutes.
After the situation escalated, police forces intervened to disperse the protesters, deploying water cannons. Heavy police vehicles were used to push the crowd away from the security perimeter in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
Protesters have partially dispersed on the “Martyrs of the Nation” Boulevard. Water cannons have been positioned inside the perimeter of the Prime Minister’s Office and have been targeting protesters even though they are at a distance.
