The Namazgja Mosque is under a security cordon. As can be seen from the footage, the religious building is surrounded by metal barriers, while police officers are positioned behind them.
The increased security measures come after the recent incident, when during a Democratic Party protest, Molotov cocktails were thrown in the direction of the area, without even sparing the mosque.
At that moment, there were believers inside performing religious rites, given that it is currently the month of Ramadan.
The Assembly will decide today on SPAK's request for the arrest of Belinda Balluku, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Infrastructure. The Council on Mandates and Immunities will present two reports, completely opposite in their position regarding SPAK's request.
The latter has requested authorization from the Assembly to impose a security measure with arrest against the former Deputy Prime Minister, who was initially suspended from government functions and then dismissed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, after the Constitutional Court upheld a decision of the Constitutional Court to suspend her as a minister.
Meanwhile, the opposition has called a protest in front of the Parliament, which has led to the Parliament carrying out its work under tight security measures. Not only metal barriers and police officers, but also a security perimeter has been set up by the Republican Guard. The latter has even placed officers on the terrace of the building who will observe every movement of the protesters from above.
