Protest for the release of Beler, Idrizi: Direct pressure for Albanian justice

The head of the PDIU, Shpëtim Idrizi, spoke about yesterday's protest in Himara, for the release of the mayor Fredi Beleri.

Idrizi said that yesterday's protest was forced, as he added that the presence of the mayor of Athens was not accidental and that there is pressure on Albanian justice. He also stated that he was against Fredi Beleri's candidacy for mayor in Himara, as it would bring tensions, as he added that he won the elections with a handful of votes and buses from Greece.

"The protest was forced. The pressure on the judiciary of the intervened state was blatant. The mayor of Athens, Bakojanis, a year ago inaugurated the war museum in Athens of Napoleon Zerva, who committed the massacre in Çameri.

It is exactly this person who comes to Albania. We also have Kostandinos Zervos, who says that his father was close to Napoleon Zervos and his grandfather was from Korça in Vorio Epirus. There are two characters who have a great burden. We who have a great burden for the committed genocide, we see it as an open provocation. These two characters are not in Himare by chance, they are putting pressure on our justice system.

This is a clear violation of the Human Rights Convention. It is neither a coincidence that the protest took place during the tourist season, nor the installation of Beler's figure for Himara. It is set to be used to bring the long-forgotten to Himara.

Even Vangjel Dule, with his thin voice, threatened Albania, saying that 'they don't know who you are messing with'. He spoke about the Hellenism of Himara and much more. So, all this shows that all that was needed was the return of tensions in Himarë, which is not a minority area, but the cradle of Albania's Labor. This does not bode well for relations between the two countries. We remind you that Greece has refused to sign the agreement on pensions, as other countries have done.

Beleri is assisted by the Greek government. I repeat, Beleri won the elections with a handful of votes and with buses from Greece. I stand by what I said before, when there was talk that Blair could be a candidate from the opposition. I emphasized that I do not know whether Beleri should be in prison for the charges as it is a matter of justice. I know he shouldn't have been a candidate, but he should be in jail for the brats he talks about. Going out with the flag of Vorio Epiri is a breach of integrity. Blair was arrested in Greece for carrying weapons without a permit, and two years ago SPAK reopened the case of Blair's accusations for the incident in Peshkopi.

Today we learn that Beler's file has been closed, that Greek justice has not responded to Albania. Those who talk to us about European justice, should turn to Greece to return the Beleri case to the Albanian Prosecutor's Office. Blair's file is said to have disappeared from the archives. A man who, with such discredit, was not elected to solve the problems of Himara, but to return to the tensions in Himara", said Idrizi for "News 24".
