Protesters intensify calls: Let's surround the Parliament and the Prime

Protesters have intensified their calls on the 16th day of the rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where thousands of citizens have gathered again to demand the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama from office.

During speeches held on the improvised podium, one of the protesters proposed escalating civic action through the peaceful siege of the country's main institutions, emphasizing that any action should take place without clashes with law enforcement.

"Let's surround the parliament and the prime minister's office peacefully. Without clashing with the police because they are our brothers," he declared.

Following his speech, the protester asked Prime Minister Rama to step down to avoid further tensions.

"Rama should be smart. He should resign and not provoke the Albanian people," he said.

The citizen did not spare criticism towards the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, considering both political figures responsible for the state of the country.

"We need a clean government. Rama in jail, Berisha in jail. They are both traitors," said the protester.

He also accused the transition political class of privatizations and decisions that, according to him, have harmed the interests of citizens over the years.

"Let's surround the parliament and the prime minister's office peacefully. Without clashing with the police because they are our brothers. Rama should show himself smart. He should resign and not provoke the Albanian people. Because if this people catch him, they will drag him to Skanderbeg Square. There is no other choice, it is the bottom of communism. We need a clean government. Rama in prison, Berisha in prison. They are both traitors. Berisha sold us hydropower plants, he sold us schools, hospitals, he made them private. Rama sold us the lands, which they gave us with blood," the protester expressed in his full speech.

The protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office has been ongoing for 16 consecutive days, while citizens are using the podium to express their dissatisfaction regarding the political, economic and social situation in the country.
