Journalist Sokol Bregu, while talking about the number of Albanians living in the United Arab Emirates, also revealed the reason why such a large number of people choose to live there.
Sokol Bregu said that exponents of organized crime choose to live in Dubai, as they are safe from assassinations that could be done to them, unlike what happens in Albania. He also emphasized that many of them are not hiding.
" Let's not forget that most of them are not in hiding, they just chose to live there because of non-conflicts. In Albania, an assassination could happen to them, they have a safe life there ," the journalist told Top News.
Taking the recent assassination in Dubai as an example, journalist Sokol Bregu said that the perpetrators of the businessman's murder were sentenced to death, and such a punishment prevents others from attempting to commit criminal acts.
" The latest attack with firearms against a businessman. The murderers were Chinese and were sentenced to death. There is no joke with the law. It is not only those who are wanted by Albanian justice who live in Dubai. There are also other exponents of organized crime who are not wanted, but because of the security and alliances they have chosen to live in Dubai, " said Bregu.
In the investigation published by the Swiss newspaper, it turns out that the number of Albanians in the United Emirates reaches up to 5 thousand people during the summer.
