Amid the tensions created during the protest in front of the Parliament, activist Dritan Goxhaj called on protesters to stop attacks on State Police officers.
His appeal came after a police officer was hit in the head by a rock thrown by the crowd during clashes with law enforcement. The injured officer received first aid at the scene.
"We have it with Parliament! Not with stones at the State Police!", Goxhaj is heard saying, asking protesters not to use violence against the blue uniforms.
Another protester joined the call, saying: " Not with the boys, not with the guys, not with the police!"
Chants such as "Join us" and "The police are with us" were also heard from the crowd , as tensions continued for several minutes.
The clashes began after protesters removed the metal fence placed in front of the Parliament and confronted police forces. During the incidents, stones and hard objects were thrown at the officers, with one of them being hit in the head and sent for medical attention.
