The Secretary General of the Constitutional Court, Eugen Papandili, made a direct request for a budget increase.
During his speech before the Laws Committee, Papandil requested 2 million lek for fire protection, a request that, according to him, has been repeated for the third consecutive year.
"If a fire breaks out at our place, it breaks out at yours too," he said ironically, emphasizing that the building is dilapidated and the fire protection system is in urgent need of improvement.
"I would ask the Ministry of Finance to be more cooperative regarding our requests. Given the increase in decisions, requests, I think that brings... so reducing the budget is not in the dignity of the Constitutional Court to extend its hand. We are talking about the investment item and regarding the situation created, as well as regarding cybersecurity, where we have requested additions regarding the server we have installed.
"Since we have added an additional directorate of 5 people to the structure, the one for relations with studies, it is also the sixth year that we have requested a minimum fund of 2 million lek for fire protection, it is the third year that I have requested it also due to the depreciation of the building. Since we are neighbors, if the fire breaks out for us, it breaks out for you too," said the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court.
