In yesterday's meeting, the government approved the proposal of the Ministry of Finance for the indexation of pensions of all categories, to the extent of 8.6 percent.
The decision starts to be implemented on October 1, this news was also given by Prime Minister Rama today.
In an interview given to the media, number 2 of Economy and Finance, Olta Manjani, clarified the details of the decision signed by the government along with the promised bonus of 5 thousand ALL at the end of the year.
During the past year, two indexations were carried out, in total at the rate of 9.5%, with a financial effect of ALL 5.4 billion. Year after year these expenses increase further, due to the residual effect for the following year, as this is an acquired and guaranteed right for every citizen who is treated by the scheme, as well as for those who will be included in it in the future .
In addition to these increases, the Government has also given bonuses, such as the one at the end of the year which is already included in the Budget Law of each year and which will be granted this year as well. The Institute of Social Insurance will guarantee through the cooperation with Albanian Post sh.a. and commercial banks the full implementation of this decision for all beneficiary individuals.
How will the calculation be done?
Where does the consumption index of the general basket change for the entire population and pensioners?! To measure the rate of inflation, pensioners have a certain basket where food and medicine have a higher weight, reflecting their main consumption.
And from the measurements, this inflation turns out to be higher than that for the population. For the population, it is calculated at 7 percent, while for pensioners it is 8.6 percent. Earlier, the government supported pensioners with social packages as a bonus, not on an indexation basis.
Indexing, according to Manjani, is dedicated, as it ensures an increase in pension and has an effect in the coming years as well.

Duke vijuar me këtë formulë, atë të rritjes së bazës dhe vitin tjetër mbi një bazë më të lartë, efekti do të jetë më i lartë. Do të mobilizohen më shumë fonde në buxhetin e shtetit për rritjen e pensioneve”, nënvizoi zëvendësministrja.
