Civil society and citizens have today held another protest after the scandal at the Oncology Clinic.
The protesters held placards in their hands that read "Enough with health that gets fat on the backs of the sick"
The protesters also reacted in connection with the visit of Prime Minister Edi Rama to the Oncology hospital, where an indignant Rama said that those who abused the patients should receive the deserved punishment.
"Those 100,000 euros could have bought medicine. Doctors know the problems. The prime minister just takes the medicine to the hospital. This is the sole duty of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health. Take medicine to the hospital," said a protester with a megaphone.
Journalist Osman Stafa has addressed an appeal to doctors to raise their voices when medicines are missing in hospitals, especially when it comes to serious illnesses. He also asked the Prosecutor's Office to deepen the investigations, as abusive cases will be discovered in every hospital ward. "It's a shame what's happening, there are no drugs and medications, and the Prime Minister comes out and labels citizens, journalists and civil society," he said.
